As Thanksgiving approaches, gratitude fills the air on campus. Students and staff alike are taking time to reflect on the people and moments that make our Viking community feel like home. Beyond the turkey and traditions, it’s a season for our school to recognize what we’re thankful for—friends, teachers, teammates, family, and the memories we make together.

Zoe is thankful for her family because “they provide [her] with someone [she] can talk to” and also “love [her] alot.” Surely Zoe and her family have some great memories surrounding Thanksgiving.

As the Thanksgiving season approaches Zach reflects on how thankful he is for his family because, “[he’s] happiest when around them,” and they “never fail to make [him] smile.”

Sophia enjoys “spending time with friends and family,” as they are her constant support system, and Ava’s thankful for her health and family. If Ava could describe her thankfulness in one word it would be joy because everything she is thankful for brings her lots of joy.

Taygen is very thankful for her “friends and family,” and she, “appreciates the small acts of kindness that [they] show.” Taygen is spending this Thanksgiving in Hawaii and noted that she is more than grateful for the opportunity!

Sydney is very grateful for her friends, “who get [her] through the day at school.” She explained that her friends are what keep her going each day, and she “would be lost without them.”

Charlie is more than grateful for his supportive family, and his friends “who [he] is very appreciative of.”

As Zoe reflects on her recollection of gratefulness this season, she said that she is most thankful for family, and a word she would use to describe them is, “opportunity, as they give [her] an opportunity to be at this school and take the classes [she] is in.”

Gabby is thankful for “friends and family” because they “support [her] in everything [she] does and keep [her] going.”
