Valentine’s Day means something different to everyone. For some, it’s about heart shaped candy and roses; for others, it’s about friendship, family, or simply feeling appreciated. To see how our school celebrates the day of love, we asked students what their favorite thing about Valentine’s Day is, and their answers show that it’s more than just a holiday–it’s a reminder of the connections that matter most.

Dane Chambers, a senior at PV, says that his favorite part about Valentine’s Day is the chocolate and candy, but he also appreciates the day to show love to his friends and family.
Cade Besnard enjoys Valentine’s Day surrounded by the people he loves most! He notes that he, “is grateful for the opportunity to show them how much [he] cares for them.”
Taylor Schulken, also a senior this year, expresses how, “even though people think it’s a day for couples, it’s truly a day to embrace love and not be embarrassed about it.” Later she adds that, “You can love everybody and anybody and it’s not weird.”
Makayla Moulton says that her favorite thing about Valentine’s Day is by far the chocolate, it is delicious after all!
Zach Bishop, a freshman here at PV, says that he enjoys doing nice things for friends and family on Valentine’s Day.

Ellie Addington and Kate Giezentanner both said that they love receiving flowers, because, “they are really cute even if [they] don’t get any.” Kate specifically loves giving flowers to her grandparents! After, adding that she enjoys seeing happy couples with love in the air all around. Both girls are also excited that the season is changing and it’s beginning to get warm again!
Ben Donnelley’s favorite part about Valentine’s Day is showing affection to the people that he loves most!
Elaina Campos, a freshman this year, enjoys receiving candy, specifically boxed chocolates. She also loves getting pretty flowers fresh from the start of spring!
