Spring Fling is the last dance for underclassmen while juniors and seniors still have PROM coming up later in spring. The dance took place at Meriam Park Barn, and this time it was western themed. The music was very energetic and everybody was jumping up and down on the dance floor from 7-10pm. Many students come and check it out every year, so let’s see what some of the guests have to say about it.
Emerson Blizman, a freshman at PV, said, “I liked the music choice the DJ had at the dance, and I’d recommend a DJ like him if you like dancing around, especially with your friends.” When asked about what she did before coming to the dance, she replied, “I went with my friends to Chipotle and it was a good filler food and didn’t take too long, so we were able to spend a longer amount of time on pictures.”

Decorations provided by STUGO members matched the overall vibe of the dance. It was a very meticulous setup that included many cowboy hats, an animal skin rug, some games to enjoy outside while getting a break from all the dancing, and also a souvenir table at the front of the Barn with light ocher with beige color bandanas. They also bought many cowboy boots shaped cookies that you could take on the way out. “I really liked the cornhole and the lights set up outside, they definitely gave it a nice western vibe,” said Alyssa Smith, a sophomore.

At the Meriam Park Barn students could also enjoy the snack bar that was open during the event. It was a great place to stop by if you got hungry or thirsty. It was a nice day to spend time with your friends. Matthew Seegert stated, “It was a fun experience, there was a lot of stuff to do, like cornhole and Connect 4. I also really enjoyed the snack bar and cookies.”
