Halloween may have started with bonfires and ghost stories centuries ago, but today, it’s all about costumes, candy, and creativity. At our school, students put their own twist on the spooky season — here’s how the Vikes are celebrating this year.
A freshman at PV, Anya Ioane said that on Halloween she usually “goes out and parties with [her] family.” With a love for the spooky season, Anya and her family surely have some memorable souvenirs on Halloween.
Kaylee Dacanay’s favorite Halloween activity is hanging out with her friends. Whether it’s making spooky treats, watching scary movies, carving pumpkins, or exploring a haunted corn maze, Kaylee says that, “Halloween is always better with [her] friends!”
Another freshman this year at PV, Avery Atchison, likes to go trick or treating with her friends. Avery described it as, “the best part of Halloween,” explaining that she always looks forward to the nightly round of collecting candy and making memories.

A senior at PV, Will Navarro likes to, “hangout with [his] family and friends on Halloween,” and enjoys collecting candy on a seasonal door-to-door candy chase.
Sophomores Olivia Kinney (right) and Maleeah Reckley (left) enjoy trick-or-treating in costumes and hanging out with their friends on Halloween. For these two, the fun wasn’t just about the candy, though that, “was always a plus,” but seeing the neighborhood come alive with laughter, spirit, and costumes.
