Dear Destiny,
Since the end of this semester is coming up and we have two breaks so close together, how should I manage my time and find motivation to continue doing my work?
Busy Bee
Dear Busy Bee,
Congratulations! Great job making it through the first semester! I know it may be hard depending on what classes you take and year you are in. We just have to make one last push, then winter break will fall upon us! Now, let’s address your question: ways to manage time and find motivation.
First, ways to find time. I know everyone’s schedule is completely different. Whether you take extra curricular activities or maybe you just feel too lazy to do it. Here is what I suggest. If you have time after school, set aside one or two hours to do work. Make sure to take a five minute brain break between each hour, speaking from experience, it helps me loosen up and refocus. But if you have no time after school, make sure to prioritize academic success and time in class to finish work. I know it can be hard considering friends may be in that class, but you’ve got this.
Second, ways to find motivation. I know since we have such little time of this semester left, you might already be checked out mentally. But check back in!!! We still have finals! In order to find motivation, keep a positive attitude, an “I can do this” mentality. Remember we may be at the end of the semester, but we still have to push and do our work for these last few weeks.
Now, Busy Bee, I wish you luck in the last few weeks of this semester. Finals are coming up and I know it can be very stressful. Remember to get good sleep and eat well. Have a great winter break and I will see you next year!
Lots of love,
Destiny
